Effectively Get Rid Of Warts With Microwave Therapy

Orangetown Podiatry offers a breakthrough treatment for surface-based skin lesions, primarily warts. With his strong focus on regenerative medicine and innovative technology, Dr. Conenello uses SWIFT Microwave therapy in treating plantar warts — a faster, cleaner, and safer way than any other known warts treatment.

What is a plantar wart?

Plantar warts are small growths of the skin that usually appear on the heels or other weight-bearing areas of your feet. This pressure of your body causes plantar warts to grow inward beneath a hard, thick layer of skin (callus), often causing pain

Besides plantar warts, there are also palmar warts that grow on the skin of your hands.

Plantar and palmar warts are both caused by a virus called HPV. The virus can spread indirectly from person to person and loves warm moist environments, such as showers. The risk of getting the virus may increase if you have cuts or breaks in the skin or if you have a weakened immune system.

Symptoms

Plantar wart signs and symptoms may include:

On average plantar warts are small, about the size of a pencil eraser. But some warts grow bigger. Sometimes plantar warts can grow in clusters; those are called mosaic warts.

A growth (lesion) on the bottom of your foot, usually the base of the toes and forefoot or the heel.

  • On a certain spot on your foot you feel hard, thickened skin called callus. This is where the wart has grown inward.
  • In some warts, little black pinpoints are visible, called wart seeds but they  are actually small, clotted blood vessels
  • A lesion that discontinues the normal lines in the skin of your foot
  • A painful lump in your foot is tender when you stand or walk.
